Use a masonry drill bit to avoid cracking the plaster. Insert wall anchors before screwing in the brackets.

Concrete, stone brick or tile

Roller Blind Installation Step-by-Step

Step 1: Marking the Bracket Positions

Which approach to take depends on whether your blinds are inside, or outside mounted:

Inside Mount: Place the brackets inside the window frame and use your pencil to mark the screw holes for each bracket. Ensure the brackets are level using a spirit level.

Outside Mount: Place the brackets outside the window frame and use your pencil to mark the screw holes for each bracket. Ensure the brackets are level using a spirit level.

Step 2: Drill the Holes

Depending on the design of your blinds, you may need to either snap your blinds into the brackets or insert them into individual bracket spaces. Check if the blinds are levelled or not. If you’re happy with the position, secure your blinds in place. If your roller blinds have cords, ensure they are kept out of reach of children and pets to prevent accidents.

Step 3: Fix the Brackets

Install the bracket according to your markings using a power drill or screwdriver. Repeat this process for the second bracket and you will have successfully fixed both your brackets.

Install Outside Mount Brackets
Install Inside Mount Brackets

For Outside Mounted Brackets:

  • Center the shade over the window opening at the desired height & width.
  • Mark the location of the “Desired Cassette end mark” on both ends ofthe cassette.
  • Measure 2 1⁄2” inward from the “Desired Cassette end marks” for the location of the brackets. If applicable, evenly space out the additional brackets between the brackets on both ends.
  • Install the brackets leveled & aligned to each other using the screws provided through the side of the brackets.

For Inside Mounted Brackets:

  • Measure 2 1⁄2” inward from each side of the window frame.
  • Install the brackets leveled & aligned to each other using the screws provided through the top of the brackets.
  • If applicable, evenly space out additional brackets between the brackets on both ends.

Step 4: Fit the Roller Blinds

  1. Use an appropriate drill bit for the type of wall material you’re drilling into.

  2. Drill the holes at the marked points for the brackets.

  3. Ensure the holes are deep enough for the screws and anchors, if applicable.

Step 5: Test and Adjust Roller Blinds

Once your roller blinds are installed, check its functionality by testing its movement. If the blind does not raise or lower smoothly, there may be an issue with the installation which can be easily fixed by removing the roller blinds from its brackets and re-attaching.

If your blinds have a tendency to roll up by themselves, the chain tension may need readjustment.
