How to Measure for Blinds and Shades (Simplified Guide)
General Tips
Use a metal tape measure (not cloth).
Measure width first, then height.
Measure to the nearest 1/8".
Do not deduct anythingβfactory will handle adjustments.
Mount Types
Inside Mount (IB) β Fits Within the Window Frame
Width: Measure at top, middle, and bottom. Use the smallest width.
Height: Measure at left, center, and right.
For horizontal shades: Use the longest height.
For vertical shades: Use the shortest height.
For Dual Shades/Window Shadings: Use the shortest height to ensure full operation.
Outside Mount (OB) β Mounted on Wall or Trim Outside the Frame
Width: Measure the desired width, adding at least 2" on each side to reduce light gaps.
Height: Measure desired height, and allow space above the window for brackets/headrail.
